Q: What is hair tinsel?
Hair tinsel is a thin, glitter thread that is temporarily tied into your hair to provide a colorful shimmer and a reflective effect.
Q: How do I brush my hair when I have tinsel tied in?
Usually tinsel is applied at the part in your hair, close to your scalp. If you feel the tinsel moving when you brush your hair, find the base where the tinsel is tied and with a finger put pressure on the knot while you brush with your free hand. That is the best way to make sure you don’t pull out tinsel. You can also brush carefully with both hands.
Q: How long does hair tinsel stay in for?
With normal wear and tear, hair tinsel will usually stay in your hair between 1-2 weeks. There are many factors which can allow tinsel to stay in longer or come out quicker. Be sure to use care when brushing and washing your hair not to tug on the tinsel.
Q: Can I use my curling iron/flat iron with tinsel in my hair?
Yes. Avoid prolonged exposure to your flat iron, curling iron, or hair dryer. The tinsel may curl if stretched.
Q: Do the colors bleach or fade when washing my hair?
No, they will not. Our hair tinsel is made from polyester and will not bleed or fade with shampoo.
Q: Can I melt the hair tinsel?
If you are not careful, hair tinsel can melt. Glitter thread has a melting point of about 400° F. Don’t keep hair tinsel exposed to heat for too long.
