Recently, Isabella Rose and Julie attended an advanced multi-educator hair class hosted by Jacob Kahn featuring some of today’s top artists in haircutting, hair color, and textured hair education.
Advanced Haircut Techniques
The class featured several haircutting demonstrations focused on modern texture, movement, and shape. Each educator brought their own unique style and approach to cutting techniques.
- Jacob Kahn taught a Razor Pixie Cut and Beachy Boho Shag, focusing on lived-in texture and movement.
- Ben White demonstrated a Blunt Textured Bob, blending strong structure with soft texture.
- Emily Chen showcased an Emo Edgy Shag with modern layering and detailed shaping techniques.
- Melvin Royce Lane also presented a 90’s Voluminous Bob, bringing back classic volume with a modern finish.
Advanced Hair Color Techniques
The color education portion of the event focused on modern blonding, dimension, and placement techniques.
- Aly Davis demonstrated a Full Dimensional Highlight, focusing on brightness, depth, and seamless blending.
- Connor Doyle taught an Ombré Fox Tip Balayage technique designed to create bold contrast and soft transitions.
- Melvin Royce Lane also presented a Bleach & Tone service focused on clean blonding and finishing work.
Curly Hair Education
The event also included curly haircutting and styling education led by DevaCurl stylists. This portion focused on curl patterns, texture-specific shaping, and styling methods designed to enhance natural curls. Understanding texture and learning different approaches allows us to better customize services for guests with curly and textured hair.
